Mortyr Review - Playability
Your view
The game is in the not-so-unusual first-person mode, e.g. you are the guy - and all you see of yourself are the hand, and when kicking you'll probably notice your foot too. And you'll probably also notice a big gun or something...
Maps
The game is splitted up in some rather huge maps, and when you're done with an area, you may continue a totally different place. More Doom-style, not like Half-Life or Kingpin, where all new maps keeps on where the other stopped. You'll also have to kill some Generals with keys in various materials, including silver and gold. More systematic - no thinking, really. Kill all of 'em, grab some keys. Not very deep.
We didn't like that we had to fly around the level looking for the damned key just to be done with it sometimes, but hell. We are stupid.
Jumping
The jumping is quite normal, but differs from other games in some ways. We're already mentioned a borking p0rn sound, but another thing that pricked our ears (blah) - was that if you jump up very steep rise, you actually gets up with no prob. Not 90¤ walls, but anyways - weird. Just note behind your leg that there's no climbing-equippment available.
Kicking
A nice 'weapon' always available is the, err, foot. Our favie is to bind MOUSE_2 to kick some naughty nazi ass when kinda poor thinking of ammo.
Shooting
You'd been rather chanseless without the weapons in the game. Head over to the Weapons-section for more information 'bout that.
