Cusmouse? WTF? Customize? What's that for sweet?

About

Basically, the customize system is made to make you even more comfortable with the site. To get it the way you want. Of course you guys are interested in different stuff (remember the ever-lasting Q3A versus UT war) - and you may select headlines from which subjects you want.

Also, with some mouse clicks you can change colors, images styles, qualities - and even loading speeds. So be sure to give it a try too! But remember that too crazy colors can damage your eyes ;-)

The last thingie you might do on the customize-side is to set your QuickLinksTM. More about that here.

The system is ASP/Perl/Cookie-based, and therefore should be quite fast - and support most browsers in use today (IE/Netscape/Opera 3.x and newer, Lynx etc.). But remember that you must enable cookies in your browser to get it to work!

By the way, if you want more information about the site itself, check out the about-section. And if you are wondering about something, or just want to talk dirty; mail the cosmic dude!

Cookies

If you're having trouble saving or retaining your personalization settings, you should be aware that Cosmo3D depends on "cookies." Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer to keep track of settings or data for a particular website. If you've disabled cookies from within your browser, or if you are running third-party software that intercepts or deletes cookies, your ability to personalize your Cosmo3D page will be disrupted.

With most browsers of new date, you have the option of ordering your browser to disable all cookie use, to accept all cookies, or to alert you every time a cookie is offered. Then you can decide whether to accept it or not.

If you have your cookies disabled, you should be able to view Cosmo3D without any problems, but you will not be able to personalize the site with headlines from other sites, other color schemes etc. If you chose to be prompted every time a cookie is offered, you will get a dialog box after every personalization choice you make.

You can read more about how to change the way your browser deals with cookies right here, and if something gets really messed up, eg. just some of your settings appear, read more about deleting the Cosmo3D-cookie here.

To make Cosmo3D the first page you see each time you visit the Web

You can make any page on the World Wide Web the first page you see whenever you start your browser. Why not make your personalized Cosmo3D home page that important starting point? Follow the instructions on this page for your browser. When you are done, you will always be able to reach Cosmo3D by clicking the Home button on your browser toolbar.

Credits

The whole darn thing is written in Perl and ASP by Axel "cosmo" Sjøstedt, and as a fourteen-year-old, it might be just as much an investment in the future - as fun, simple, teenie-programming. Special thanks for help with the Perl code that sorts out the hadlines goes to Main CGI-p1mper LordTM Tore "demo" Halvorsen at NTNU - Trondheim - Norway. Give that man some flowers or somethin'!

Still need help?
